Before Walmart and Costco, you would go to Woolworths or the 60's version of a giant box store: Woodwards, and pick out the new lunchbox for the upcoming year. For $3.95 that little tin box with the plastic thermos was your companion for the year. There were literally hundreds of kits to choose from.
Fast forward 30 or 40 years and those relics of the past are now highly collectable. That 3 or 4 dollar investment could turn a tidy $1500 profit if you happened to have the Superman box shown above. So, moms out there, why not bring a little old school to the new school and try and find one of these old classics. They're gonna cost more than a lunchbag, but maybe your youngster can be the one that restarts this cool trend. Here's a great link to some of the best lunchbox collections around.
